Hereford FC will continue the search for a new manager this week. Whilst there have been a number of applicants to date, not all are thought to have the experience needed to take the club forward to full time.
Orginally chairman Andrew Graham said that he hoped an appointment would be made by the end of the month but this now looks very unlikely.
"The search for a new Manager or Head Coach continues," wrote Graham in Saturday's match programme.
"We are drawing up a short-list that has a wide range of candidates on it.
"We have tried to cast our net as far and wide as possible and will continue to do so until we are confident that we have found the right person for the job."
And according to BBC H&W's Keith Hall, Graham has also said that the club have approached some potential candidates who haven't applied for the job. No interviews have taken place so far Graham confirmed.
Meanwhile Head of Football Tim Harris has commented that the post needs to be filled as soon as possible.
"One thing I've said to the board is that the decision needs to be made soon.
"Whoever is going to come in and take us forward, it's important that gets done sooner rather than later."
Harris has ruled out himself being manager.
"Absolutely no chance," he said on Saturday.
"My role - and what I
feel I am good at - is on the recruitment and contract side and
supporting and managing a manager or head coach, whoever that may be.
"My role is to assist the board in making decisions.
"We're in the middle of a process, that process will be sooner rather than later."
One source told BN that one or two possible candidates for the job are holding back applications until they have spoken to the club about exactly what the club are looking for. The adverts have not been particularily clear.
There is a view that Tim Harris may have to take a slightly different role as some candidates may feel, for example, that they would want to do their own recruiting of players.
