Board Will Take Their Time To Appoint New Manager Said Graham

During his recent interview with BBC Hereford and Worcester, Andrew Graham was asked about how quickly a new manager/head coach would be appointed.

"I think there are two different angles to this," said the Hereford FC Chairman.

"Firstly absolutely urgent to get the right person in.

"But it's also important that we take the right amount of time to ensure that the right person is employed, if that makes sense.

"We didn't have a replacement prior to it happening, I think that would have been disrespectful."

What about Head of Football Tim Harris? People will say he worked alongside Marc Richards and, to a degree, partly culpable as well.

"Absolutely and this is a really important point actually because I've noticed that there have been quite a lot of comments about that they came as a unit perhaps they should disappear as a unit.

"But let's reflect upon what our job is as directors and certainly my position as chairman.

"The most important thing is Hereford Football Club.

"Now the departure of one part of the management team responsible for bringing this group of players in, who we really believe in, it would have been remiss of me at this moment in time to suggest that we needed to get rid of the entire team, because there has to be an effective transition period especially bearing in mind that we have a lot of games in this front-loaded section of the season.

"Now Tim knows our position. Tim is fully aware that he is here for the transition and Tim is fully aware of what the long term plans are, that we intend to get the right manager in to the management position as soon as possible."

Trevor Owens then poised this - 'you say he's here for the transition, does that mean he's here for the long term when the new manager is in, because transition suggests that when the new man is in and established that perhaps Tim won't be here'.

"That's not the case at all.

"Tim has a role here as head of football.

"When you look at what has been achieved by the head of football in respect of signings, management of budgets, some things fans will always disagree with.

"But we're very happy and confident that we have got a squad that will push us forward.

"Now in respect of the role of Tim Harris that's something that we will have to discuss in the future. Tim is aware of the direction those discussions have taken and I don't intend to cover those at this moment in time but I'm happy that Tim is aware and I'm happy we've got the right strategy in place to move us forward."

So he's here for the forseeable future?

"Tim is here for the forseeable future, whether it will be in the role that we are used to seeing him in , that's a question we will have to address"

Might going back to a manager and coach be a better way to go?

"I think there's almost a hybred model here.

"Head of football, head coach, some might say they are not too happy with what they've seen here at Hereford.

"I think parts of it have worked and parts of it may be need tweaking or addressing in a certain way.

"Do we require a head of football for all of the football business, I would suggest yes.

"Is the relationship likely to look the same as it has done in the past, I would suggest that that is an area which we are looking at."

Final point, would you hope to have someone in by the end of the month?

"Without a doubt".
