A sucker punch in stoppage time saw
Hereford go down 2-1 to Yeovil Town in the first game of their ‘bonding trip’
in Devon.
The trialist, Bradley Ash, beat two players to drill the ball past Brandon Hall on the edge of the area.
It looked like Hereford were going to
claim a creditable draw thanks to a fine goal from Tommy O’Sullivan.
The Bulls midfielder latched onto a fine Rhys Davies pass in the 51st minute to lift the ball over Yeovil keeper Stuart Nelson.
O’Sullivan had a chance to put his side
ahead but saw his stinging effort tipped over.
Jordan Culliane-Liburd also had an
opportunity to net the winner 12 minutes from time, but glanced his header
wide, while substitute Liam Bishop was also denied.
Hereford played well in the second
half, which is encouraging going forward especially as Yeovil play in the
league above.
However, missed chances ultimately
proved costly, which may worry some supporters.
Yeovil took the lead two minutes before
half time when a slip from Martin Riley gifted the ball to Craig Alcock, who set
up Rhys Murphy to score.
However, Yeovil were lucky to have 11 players still on the pitch after Carl Dickinson raised his hands towards Jacob Jagger Cane. But instead of receiving his marching orders, Dickinson only received a yellow card.
Apart from those two incidents and a
chance for Daniel Odo to make it 2-0 to Yeovil, the first half was a very quiet
affair.
Next up for Hereford is a game against Bideford on
Sunday (1pm).
Josh Gowling, Tom Owen-Evans and Reece Styche will all look to
start the game after sitting on the bench this evening, while Jason Pope and
Mike Symons will also be looking to get minutes under their belt.

Bray (Finn 26), Thomas, Jagger-Cane, O'Sullivan, Nicholson (Styche 57), Liburd
