Hereford FC have confirmed that right back Jared Hodgkiss has signed for the club until the end of the season.
Officially he had been a trialist for the past few weeks.
32 year old Hodgkiss, who was born in Stafford, started his career at West Brom.
In 2009 he joined Forest Green where he stayed for five seasons before moving to Kidderminster.
He left in the summer of 2017 and joined Macclesfield.
"We’ve been very encouraged by his experience, leadership and what we’ve seen during the games he has played in," said head of football Tim Harris.
Hereford United manager Graham Turner tried to sign Hodgkiss in 2008 but the right back decided to move to Aberdeen.
"Jared wanted to join us," said Jimmy Caldwerwood, the Aberdeen manager at the time.
"He turned down a few clubs to come here and had to phone Hereford to say he wouldn't be joining them because he had the chance to play for Aberdeen."
