Keyon Reffell Scores Against Chesham In April 2018 |
Head of football at Hereford, Tim Harris, has said that he is sorry that Keyon Reffell has decided to leave the club and move elsewhere.
Reffell suffered two nasty injuries and missed much of last season. However he had returned for pre-season training and looked lively in the two games he played in.
He met with the club on Wednesday and was offered a new deal. However he phoned Harris on Friday morning and said he was moving on.
Harris was understandably disappointed with the news especially given the club had backed him through his recovery from injury.
However, given his injuries, it thought the club felt unable to improve its offer.
In his post match interview head coach Marc Richards also spoke about Reffell.
"We made Keyon a good offer on Wednesday at training.
"We had a phone call this morning saying he wanted to sign for a local side.
"Disappointed because he had a terrible time with injury. He had been Mr Positive and the club had been brilliant in supporting him.
"We got him back for pre-season and he's played in a few games and I thought we were there.
"Then this morning we found out due to a change in jobs and family circumstances he wants to stay closer to home.
"So he won't be signing for us.
"I wanted him to be a Hereford player, I am disappointed."
