A Reece Styche penalty has seen Hereford go 1-0 up at the break in the Bulls' first pre-season friendly against Wellington.
Styche confidently converted the spot-kick in the 31st minute after Tom Owen-Evans was upended.
Owen-Evans earlier went close for Hereford with a fierce effort from distance, but overall the game has had a typical 'pre-season' feel about it.
As well as Styche, Brandon Hall, Rhys Davies, Jacob Jagger Cane, Martin Riley and Jordan Nicholson all started for Hereford, with a trialist playing at right back.
Keyon Reffell also got 45 minutes under his belt as he battles back from an injury-plagued campaign. A new line-up will play the second half.
