National League AGM This Weekend

The AGM of the National League is set to take place this weekend at the Celtic Manor just outside Newport.

It's at this meeting that the final composition of each of the three National leagues will be ratified.

They will also confirm when the fixture lists will be released - probably July 3rd.

The new season is set to commence on Saturday August 3rd.

One item on the agenda will be Notts County who were relegated from Division Two in April and are in financial meltdown.

County are due at the High Court on Wednesday after being issued with a winding-up order over a £250K tax bill.

Latest figures suggest that the club now owes around £800K to HMRC and so the Taxman could force County in administration or liquidation.

And the National League could deduct points from County or ask for a bond before they play a game.

County's situation is not unlike Hereford United's after Tommy Agombar took over from David Keyte. Agombar refused to pay a bond to the Conference and so Hereford dropped down two leagues.
