Kinnersley to stand down

Ken Kinnersley

Hereford FC chairman Ken Kinnersley is to stand down as a Director on June 17.

Kinnersley started as a volunteer before becoming the club's Volunteers' Co-ordinator.

That then led to him to become Chief Executive and latter Chairman after serving as a Director.

"No-one should ever underestimate the vital role Ken has played in Hereford FC’s journey," reads a statement from Kinnersley's fellow directors.
"He has always acquitted himself professionally, with honourable intentions and much has been achieved on his watch.
“We all hope Ken enjoys his ‘retirement’ from boardroom duties and that he gets to see further success for his club from his previous seat in the Len Weston Stand on the other side of the pitch. He’s always said he misses sitting in the seat he was so comfortable in over many, many years, so we’re sure he will be delighted to get back there.
“As a board, we will miss the dedication Ken has shown to this football club and we should also thank Sandy for the hospitality she has provided for opposing Directors and Boardroom visitors to ensure their match day experience was an enjoyable one.
“On behalf of everyone at Edgar Street, we’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Ken for all his hard work – we will always be grateful for your achievements here.”
Speaking to the Hereford FC official website, Kinnersley thanked the club's legion of volunteers, fellow directors, staff members and the club's five initial shareholders who collectively donated £250,000 to kickstart the new club.
"Looking ahead, I hope the arrangements involving Pegasus Juniors FC and the new artificial playing facilities at Old School Lane will be of considerable benefit to the community as a whole, the Academy and Hereford FC," said Kinnersley.
"I am particularly grateful to the Directors of Pegasus Juniors for the spirit of co-operation and goodwill that has underpinned all our discussions over the past year. I do believe the relationship will prove to be of significant benefit to the city in the years ahead."
Hereford say they are hoping to announce a replacement Director and the appointment of the new Chairman within the next 10 days.
