Former Hereford United player Paul Green has decided to hang up his boots.
Midfielder Green, whose career included spells at Aston Villa, Lincon, Solihull Moors, Forest Green and Tamworth, joined Hereford on loan from Forest Green in August 2013.
He made seven appearances for the Bulls before returning to Forest Green.
Green made his annoucement to retire last week after having hip surgery.
"So, after hip surgery last week, and taking some time and advice from
the surgeon, unfortunately it’s time to hang up my boots," he tweeted as reported by BirminghamLive.
"Thank you to
Aston Villa, Lincoln City, Forest Green, Solihull Moors, Tamworth FC and
Hereford for the opportunity to play for these great clubs. Greeny."
Back in September 2014, Green formed a partnership with Rob Purdie after Purds was made caretaker boss at Tamworth.
Purds played in a game against Colwyn Bay whilst Green, who was suspended, gave orders from the dug-out.
However Green lost his voice after 30 minutes!
