Stockport To Have 700 Tickets For Hereford Game

Stockport County supporters will be housed in the one half of the Len Weston Stand when they play Hereford at Edgar Street on Saturday April 6th. They have been given just over 700 tickets to sell.

It's understood Stockport enquired about whether they could have more space but Hereford were totally against the idea as it would have meant moving season ticket holders and the costs of extra stewarding.

Recently there has been some trouble at grounds where Stockport were playing.

Last Saturday it was Guiseley where, apparantly, Stockport supporters pushed down a fence to enter the home end. Others were ejected from the clubhouse.

This morning Guiseley issued a statement.

The Directors and myself as Chairman would like to apologise to our supporters and other visitors for the incidents caused by a minority of Stockport County fans at Saturday’s game at Nethermoor.

This sort of behaviour is not something we expect, or are used to, or indeed condone in any way and it goes against the grain of what we are as a family club.

We were not given any prior reason to believe that there would be trouble from the away fans. There was no intelligence passed on to us to prepare us for this and we apologise to everyone upset by the actions of these people.
