This From HUST:
Representatives of the Trust Board met with our three nominated Directors this week and we had hoped to provide a full and definitive statement on recent events.
It has become clear that the Trust is not able to advise fully and publicly on this topic. Confidentiality concerns around employment related matters are one contributing factor. Equally, the club’s current Articles of Association do not carry the clauses to allow our nominated directors to share information more easily with the Trust. These rules, which govern the Club, have been in place since the formation of Hereford FC. Recent events have been the first tangible test of these rules and have clearly shown that they could be improved.
The Trust Board has shared Member frustrations about the lack of information available to share and will work with its nominated Directors, to seek solutions to improve the flow of information from the Club to the Trust and its members, who represent the largest single shareholder in the Club.
In the meantime, we would like to reassure our members that we have passed all views expressed by our members to our nominated Club Directors. In turn, they have provided assurances that they fully believe that recent decisions, while extremely difficult, have been taken in the best long-term interests of the Club and its supporters. HUST’s Nominated Club Directors are not directly instructed by the Trust or its members but rather their roles, as eloquently described by Mick Merrick at the Fans Forum, are comparable to that of an MP. They are nominated by the Trust to represent the views of the membership and can be removed by the Trust if it feels they are failing in this duty. However, the decisions of nominated Directors, whilst in office, are their own. The Trust Board have full faith and confidence in our three nominated Directors and encourage members to support the new football Management Team, once appointed.
We would like to thank all members for their continued support and ask for patience as we work towards achieving appropriate change. We would encourage all Trust members to get involved with the Trust as actively as possible to help us achieve these goals. Our AGM is on 11 October at 7pm in Radford’s.
