A run down of the main points from this evening's Fans Forum. New Head of Football Tim Harris answered the majority of questions as he sat alongside the Board of Directors.
Football budget increased by 50%
The football budget, which includes everything from players' nutrition, travel, overnight stays and players. Tim Harris did emphasise that this wasn't all used, but did question the need to have a 23-man squad. He'd rather have a playing budget as opposed to a football budget.
Five players on contracts
Tim Harris says one young player and four others on contracts, but he didn't name them. Keyon Reffell is one of them.
Keiran Thomas is not yet on a contract but they are finalising one for him, Harris jokingly told fans to keep it quiet for another week the club will get him to sign it.
More needed on contracts because otherwise the club will lose them.
Non-contract players need to start performing
Tim Harris said that the majority of players are not on contracts and you don't need to be rocket-scientist to know the side aren't scoring enough goals. There's no extra budget for the new manager, but it's not all being used.
Unanimous decision to sack Beadle
As was said in the initial statement on Pete Beadle's sacking, it was a unanimous decision by the board. This including the HUST nominated directors who say they weren't steamrolled into the decision.
Mick Merrick said they took as long as was needed to make the decision - it was taken and then implemented quickly.
No good time for the sacking
HUST nominated director Mick Merrick said there was no good time to sack Pete Beadle, but after looking at the board's objectives it became clear over a period of time that the structure wasn't going to be achieved with Beadle as manager.
The board understand it was a great shock to fans, but the point of the statement earlier today was that it wasn't a knee-jerk reaction. Nothing to do with poor start to the season.
Loan players are not the way forward
Even though Harris complemented Harvey Smith on his 'excellent' performance last night, he says loanees often think they're bigger than the club. Smith has bought into the club though, but Harris would rather have his own players.
Almost 80 applicants for Head Coach role
Applicants range from Championship managers to Playstation managers according to Harris and there's one more interview to go. Five or six are ideally suited but Harris said life is a gamble and you can never be 100% sure on a decision.
No plans to change ticket prices for OAPs
Commercial Director George Webb said that club are focussing on the next generation of fans and can't offer heavily discounted tickets to under-16s and over-65s.
