We've Been There Before - Leamington

We've had to go back over 90 years to find a game between Leamington, who now play in National North, and Hereford.

In those days it was Leamington Town and the game was in the Birmingham Combination. It was Hereford United's first season.

Details of this game are limited but thanks to Ron Parrott here's a short report.

April 30th 1925 Leamington 1 Hereford 1

United gain a rather unexpected point after George Wardropper's powerful shot gives them an early lead.

It's an even contest for the most part but the home side get their equaliser when the whistle should have gone for offside.

Travelling difficulties mean it's fourty minutes each way.

Hereford: Swift, Smith, Williams P, Wardropper, Morris, Brooke, Thorne, Matthews, Gregory, Wooton, Hann.

Referee: P Rolfe
