Nuneaton's Ground Could Be Purchased By Port Vale Owner

Nuneaton's ground could be purchased by Port Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite according to the Stoke Sentinel.

Smurthwaite bought Port Vale from the receivers in 2012 and continues to back the club. However, he says, the rules allow him to purchase certain assets of another club.

"I can't personally put any funds into another football club but I can buy assets such as the stadium."

He hopes the deal can be agreed before the National North League AGM on Friday.

Nuneaton need to sell their stadium to help ease their financial problems.
