Clubs React To Hereford In National North

There has already been some reaction to Hereford being placed in the National League North for next season.

This from Darlington:

The FA’s Leagues Committee met earlier in the week to formulate the leagues next season, and decided that Hereford, who have won three successive promotions since they were reformed, will play in National League North next season.

Quakers and Hereford played each other 40 times in the Football League, Quakers winning 14 and Hereford 12, but Quakers’ two most important wins were in the 1996 play off semi finals.

Hereford include former Darlo player Rob Purdie in their squad (last season - ed). Rob stood by us in the second administration, and played in several positions in the closing months of the 2008-09 season.

This from Altrincham:

Altrincham will be joined by Hereford, Chester, Guiseley and Ashton United as the new clubs playing in the National League North in 2018-19. This has been confirmed by the FA National League System (NLS), which has issued the list which allocates clubs to the various divisions which will operate in the non-League pyramid in 2018-19 at Steps 1 to 4.

Six of the clubs that we met last season in Step 3 have been moved to the newly formed Southern League Central. Matt Edkins, the NLS Manager, writes "I am writing following on from the Leagues Committee meeting of Thursday 10 May 2018, where the Club Allocations for Steps 1 to 4 of the National League System were confirmed.

You will note your Club's allocation in the attached document and your Competition will be in contact with you in due course to advise of any requirements they may have.

Any appeals as to the allocation to a League/division can be made, in accordance with FA Regulations, to the Judicial Services department within 7 days of this communication... Please note that dates of 23/25/30/31 May and 1 June have been set aside for any appeals".

This from Kidderminster:

Harriers will be able to renew acquaintances with rivals Hereford after the FA confirmed the Bulls will be part of the 2018/19 National League North.

Hereford have continued their red-hot streak since reformation, once again wrapping up promotion last term by romping to the EvoStik South Premier Division title, amassing a massive 113 points in the process – more than a dozen clear of second-placed King’s Lynn Town.

Now they’ll be locking horns with forces from Step 2 of the National League system – fellow new-boys Chester and Guiseley, along with Harriers of course!
