Report: Hereford 3 - Chesham United 0

100 league goals and counting - Hereford are still on course for a double century as this afternoon's win saw them net goals 98, 99 and 100 as well as increase their points tally to 98.

Early goals from Keyon Reffell and Lance Smith meant Hereford were two goals up after just ten minutes, and after dominating the majority of the game, Jennison Myrie-Williams scored the Bulls' 100th league goal of the season in the 67th minute.

The side was unchanged following Bank Holiday Monday's local derby win at Redditch, with Ryan Green keeping his place alongside Jordan Liburd in the heart of the defence as his three-match suspension doesn't kick in for seven days.

A positive start from Hereford saw them have three early chances in front of the Meadow End, but neither could find the back of the net. After Pablo Haysham was upended on the edge of the box, Jennison-Myrie-Williams hit a powerful effort which took a deflection off the wall, and the rebound fell nicely to the keeper. Moments later and Myrie-Williams was a threat again, but the goalkeeper came charging out and snatched the ball from his feet.

But with just seven minutes on the clock, Hereford took the lead. Patient build-up play from Hereford saw the ball headed into the path of Keyon Reffell by Lance Smith, with the former Merthyr Town man making no mistake in striking the ball diagonally into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.

Fears that it could have been a tricky game on paper were put to bed as Lance Smith doubled his side's advantage three minutes later. With Rob Purdie's cross being punched clear by the keeper, the ball was worked back into the box by Eliot Richards. Lance Smith did well to get round his man to win the ball, and after taking a touch, his left-footed shot beat the diving keeper.

Myrie-Williams could've grabbed his second of the game in the 17th minute, but after cutting into the box from the left, his low drive was just wide of the far post.

The Whites continued to put pressure on the visiting Generals' defence, without really testing the goalkeeper. First of all Rob Purdie had an effort from 20-yards, but Hafid Al'Droubi watched on as the ball sailed high and wide of his goal.

Lance Smith, who has impressed many with his performances and work-rate of late, came close to grabbing another goal with 32 minutes on the clock. Smith did well to rise above his man at the far-post to meet Rob Purdie's floating cross from the right, but he headed well over the crossbar to keep the score at 2-0.

With the interval approaching, it had been a quiet half for Will Puddy in goal for Hereford as he spent much of it watching his side control the game. With Jimmy Oates finding Keyon Reffell with an attacking thrown down the right, he played a neat ball across to Pablo Haysham on the edge of the area, but his rising shot cleared the roof of the Meadow End terrace behind the goal.

For Chesham at the start of the second half, substitute Dave Pearce broke towards goal, but as he looked to play the ball through to Lewis Toomey, the assistant's flag went up.

It wasn't long before Hafid Al'Droubi was under pressure once again, as Lance Smith was on the hunt for his second. A pinpoint cross from Ryan Green was met with a firm header from Smith, but it was inches over the crossbar.

The chances kept coming for Hereford as Eliot Richards' strike from the edge of the box took a deflection before going behind, but the keeper was on hand to claim Jimmy Oates' cross-come-shot from the corner.

Chesham looked to have benefited from a half time team talk as the registered what was probably their first shot on goal in the 57th minute. Will Puddy's quick reactions denied Lewis Toomey, palming away the strike from close-range.

The danger didn't carry on for long however, as Jennison Myrie-Williams was the man responsible for netting Hereford's 100th league goal of the season. Lance Smith saw an initial shot parried by the keeper, but with Myrie-Williams got on the end of the loose ball to bury it in the back of the net from close-range.

After he replaced Rob Puride, Mike McGrath was quick to make his mark, trying an ambitious effort from 25-yards. But the keeper was untroubled, as the effort sailed well over.

In the 78th minute, Keyon Reffell should've done better as his looping header nestled on top of the net. Ryan Green's chipped ball forward was picked up by Myrie-Williams, before crossing in for Reffell. But under little pressure, Reffell couldn't find the target.

The final chance of the game fell to the sponsors' man of the match Eliot Richards, but he couldn't quite reach Jimmy Oates' cross to head it past the keeper.
