Dagenham and Redbridge FC are in need of a cash injection given major investor Glyn Hopkins has stopped supporting the club.
"The situation is quite dire," said managing director Steve Thompson.
"We have not managed to attract an investor
and we could possibly run out of money in the next couple of months.
"We are still talking to a number of people but no one has come out of the woodwork yet.
"We are looking at ways of keeping the club going next season but it is relying on us finding some short-term funding and I am not sure we can do that. Our problem is commitments to players’ contracts and being able to service them going forward. I am not certain how we deal with that at the moment.
"We have contracts up until June 2019. The highest wage is about £1,000 a week. We have sold some players to cover it until now. But we won’t be able to pay wages in May and June."
Hopkins has supported the club since its formation. However he has said he wasn't happy when certain supporters brought a Confederate flag emblazoned with the name ‘Trump Daggers’ to a game.
Later another flag ‘North Korean Daggers’was seen at games.
"With the Confederate flag, I worried how our black players would feel," Hopkins told the Daily Mail.
