Preview: Biggleswade Town vs Hereford

UPDATE - MATCH POSTPONED

Gwladys the Bull takes a look ahead to tonight’s game:

Hereford will be looking to bounce back immediately following the 2-0 home defeat to King's Lynn on Saturday with a midweek away trip to 18th placed Biggleswade Town. Whilst a disappointing result at the weekend, the Bulls still maintain a healthy seven point advantage at the top with a single game in hand remaining.

King's Lynn completed their double over Hereford with a very professional performance and - having grabbed their goals - they saw out the remaining half-hour with relative ease. Hereford failed to take their best chances and were left to rue hitting the crossbar twice and Symons and Reffell both missing close range opportunities.

John Mills and Lance Smith were used as late attacking substitutions and both will be hoping for an opportunity to start with the forward line drawing a blank on Saturday. Ryan Green picked up a slight knock in training last week and is set to miss his second successive game with Pete Beadle stating that he didn’t want to risk playing the long-serving defender too soon. His presence and experience were certainly a loss against Kings Lynn, but he is expected to return against Basingstoke. It’ll likely be left up to Jack Deaman and Dara O’Shea to fill the centre half positions again for the trip to Bedfordshire.

Biggleswade ran Hereford close in their 1-0 defeat at Edgar Street just a little over a month ago. The Waders looked to have secured a hard-earned point until Keyon Reffell popped up in the third minute of added time to snatch all three points for the home side.

It’s been an indifferent season for Biggleswade who have only picked up 9 points since the turn of the year and they will be trying to secure a mid-table finish over the course of their remaining fixtures. Manager Chris Nunn will be looking to again stifle the Hereford attack and will hope that striker Jack Bowen will continue with his recent pleasing performances that included the winner against Redditch.

Hereford supporters will be keeping a close eye on events at Kings Lynn who face a tricky home game against Slough. However, the Bulls must focus on the job at hand and ensure that they return to winning ways as quickly as possible.

Three points is an absolute must!
