Former Hereford United midfielder Brian McGorry has had a big influence in the success of Robbie Fowler's Education and Football Academy.
The academy was started three years ago by Fowler, a former Liverpool star.
The academy principle is Brian McGorry who has nearly 20 years of teaching experience.
“This isn't a case of Robbie Fowler just putting his name to something and leaving us to it.
“We get brilliant support from him and he's very passionate about the education side. It's why he wanted to get involved."
Leon Arnasalam is an example of the success of the Academy.
“Leon Arnasalam is a local lad from Toxteth who got expelled from school before he came to us. He resat his English and maths with us and is now three months away from getting his grades to go to university," said McGorry.
McGorry joined Hereford United in March 1997 and moved to Torquay in July 1998.
