Hereford manager Pete Beadle spoke to the local media after this afternoon’s 5-2 win at home to Redditch United.
He told BBC H&W’s reporter Keith Hall that despite Hereford having the best defensive record in the league, his side often concede from ‘general mistakes’ or 'poor pieces of play'.
"It wasn't excessively hard work but we made it difficult for ourselves," Beadle told BBC H&W's Keith Hall.
"Disappointed with the two goals, but the chances we missed meant it could have been seven or eight. After the two goals we pretty much controlled the play in the first half without really creating a huge amount of chances, although we did get the four goals.
"Second half I thought we started much better, we looked more solid and they [Redditch] came out and had a right go and put for lads up top.
"In the end I thought we were worthy of scoring five goals."
Hereford conceded twice in the first half, with goals that could have been avoided.
"We've got the best defensive record in the league, but if you go through all the goals we've conceded, there''s not been many that have been from good bits of play - it's been from our general mistakes or from poor pieces of play from us.
"Today was exactly that, two awful pieces of play and it's cost us. Even though we've been great in the attacking half of the pitch and we've got ourselves in front and won the game, it's disappointing to concede those goals.
"We try and build a platform up of clean sheets, but today we didn't do that. It makes it harder for us, because when teams score goals they have something to hang on to."
Beadle was asked about Dara O'Shea and a possible extension to his loan deal from West Brom.
"It would have been his last game today.
"We'll try and extend it if we can but obviously a lot of that will come down to them, him and if they are happy for him to stay here. He will want to stay here and finish off what he started.
"We would obviously love to keep him as well.
"Hopefully this week we'll get it finished and done."
