Preview: Hereford vs Redditch United

Hereford entertain Redditch United at Edgar Street tomorrow (Monday) and will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a disappointing goalless draw at Merthyr on Boxing Day.

The Reds currently lie 15th in the table and are without a win in the league since mid-November. New manager Tim Harris, who quit Gloucester City, lost his first game in charge on Tuesday as Stratford Town comfortably won 2-0.

Harris has already drafted in additional backroom staff and brought in winger Adam Page on loan from Cheltenham. His loan spell with Hereford was cut short and was named as a substitute for Town's game against Coventry City earlier in the month, but didn't feature.

Other familiar faces include goalkeeper Ethan Ross, who had a brief spell at Edgar Street preseason. He was brought in on a short-term deal from West Bromwich Albion to cover for the injured Martin Horsell. Stuart Fleetwood signed for the Worcestershire club after leaving Merthyr when their financial problems came to light. The 31-year old made 92 appearances for Hereford United across two spells at the club.

Redditch's Dior Angus is the fourth highest goalscorer in the Southern Premier so far this season, scoring 15 goals in 20 league appearances. He sits just below John Mills, who's scored 17.

Hereford still have a number of players out with various injuries, including Mike McGrath, Tyrone Duffus and Calvin Dinsley. Mike Symons could be back in contention as he returns from the knock he picked up at Chesham, and Rob Purdie is also fully fit despite not featuring at Merthyr.

Tickets for the game are selling well, with a crowd of over 3,000 expected for Hereford's first game of 2018. They'll be on sale at Edgar Street from 12pm tomorrow, with kick off at 3pm.
