Beadle pleased To Progress In Trophy

After Hereford's 2-1 win over Potters Bar last night in the Trophy replay, the start of which was delayed by 35 minutes because Hereford's coach broke down, manager Peter Beadle spoke to the media.

"They made us work hard for it (the victory) but you expect that, they were at home," said Beadle.

"Obviously with everything that has gone on leading upto the game it was going to be difficult but I thought we were brilliant, I thought we were excellent tonight.

"Raising your game when these cup ties come around is great and we've had to raise ours tonight.

"I thought everyone to a man was superb, everyone has put a good shift in.

"We had to change the shape a little bit with some players playing right out of position but again we still looked fairly comfortable.

"Outside of their goal can you tell me another shot they had on target?

"Obviously goals were hard to come by as they defended very well but I thought we dominated the game looking at the game as a whole.

"We tired towards the end, some players haven't had much game time.

"But we're delighted to be going through. Just nice to come here and win it tonight with what has gone on."

Did the breakdown affect the players?

"It's always difficult as it affects the player's mind-sets but there wasn't too much we could do about it. Every week it's down to the players. They are the ones that get the results, they are the ones who defend, throw their bodies on the line and score the goals.

"Credit to them tonight, there were three or four there who haven't had much game time and have put in a real shift on a heavy but tidy pitch in a game where they've probably raised their game and we've come through it with flying colours."

It's Oxford next in the Trophy.

"They've had a really good run of form over the last couple of weeks, all of a sudden their fortune has turned a little bit.

"We just need to get a few more bodies through the door and a few more bodies fit and hopefully then by the time we get to Oxford we'll have a few more available."

Before then two home games.

"Obviously the League is our bread and butter, sometimes the Cups can be a bit of a distraction but we want to be as successful as we can in all competitions, push ourselves and test ourselves.

"It's nice to be fighting on three fronts at the moment but we've had a couple of decent cup results recently then followed it up with poor league performances.

"That's why it's important over the next few days we try and get a few new bodies through the door and one or two fit if we can.

"Tyrone (Duffas) hopefully his clearance will come through and he will be available for Saturday. Hopefully Jimmy will be available for Saturday, hopefully Rob will be the same and hopefully one more through the door which will be nice."

Pablo Haysham was subbed late in the game.

"He felt his hamstring a little bit, he didn't feel anything ping so I think it's purely down to the work he put in tonight.

"It just goes to show when you have to do it, it's within them. Pabs has missed several games, he's been in and out a little bit lately but I thought he was great tonight along with other ten around him.

"We're happy and hopefully the supporters as well.

"Waiting for us to get here must have been unbearable but they've stuck with us once again. Thank you to them.
