A Very Positive Night Said Beadle

Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle spoke to the local media after tonight's 15-1 win over Tenbury in the HFA Cup.

"We take a lot from the game, we've given a lot of youngsters a game again tonight," said Beadle.

"It's always part of their development plan to play against seniors, playing against men, so we've taken a lot from that.

"Jamie Cuss big plus, half an hour in his first game back. It's still going to take a bit of time for him, it's going to be slowly, slowly. He's not going to be flying on all cylinders just yet.

"But it's half an hour under his belt which is a big thing psychologicaly and mentally for him to get through that.

"And it was a good work out for those not been getting much game time as well.

"We've had lots of possession, scored lots of goals which is good so we got plenty of pluses out of it.

Lance Smith scored four of Hereford's goals.

"He's already got seven goals in very few starts. If you look at his goals to starts it's not bad. Obviously he's got a few tonight, just what he needed for a bit of confidence.

"Again he's been in and out so a little bit of a blow for 45 minutes, got himself some goals, great for him. A very positive night for us."

Dan Preston had to be subbed with a knee injury.

"He's just jarred his knee a little bit. Hopefully it will settle down and be okay by the weekend. We'll just wait and see."

Looking forward to Saturday, Beadle was asked about Potters Bar.

"We've had someone watch them on Saturday. We were lucky enough to have had someone down that way who went and watched them for us. The report should be with us tomorrow or Thursday.

"But we don't take anybody lightly, we never have done so we'll put a team out that we feel is capable of winning the game. Obviously we've got to look at any knocks picked up last weekend.

"It just seems to be that after FA Cup games we suffer with quite a few knocks but all the boys who played Saturday were here tonight. As far as I'm aware there is nothing major to worry about so hopefully we will be pretty close to full strength."

Any news on signings?

"We're looking all over the place at the moment. Maybe hopefully by the end of the week we may be a new face or two but obviously we know it's more likely to be a loan than a permanent thing to start with.

"We've worked hard yesterday and today to get things close. So far we have one that is close and one that is not. Not a million miles away but not close enough yet to be talking about.

"Hopefully by the time we get to the next league game at Stratford we might have one if not two new faces."

What about the Fleetwood draw?

"Great draw for us. Ideally you always want to be at home but that's not the case.

"I won't lie but when it came down to the last four balls in the pot I was praying that we would get Coventry but not to be.

"Fleetwood will be a stern test, they are doing really well in the League they are in. But as you saw last night, if you go about your business the right way and you take your chances then you have a chance in the game.

"We know the amount of distance there is between us and them, four divisions is it between us and them.

"So we know they will be fit and strong and organised, they work day in day out. We've just got to go there and do what we do best.

"I do think sometimes we have played better away from home. The pitch will be good so there will be a chance for us to get the ball down and try and play if we can and then it's down to the players to embrace and enjoy the day.

"Hopefully if we have as much luck as we've had in the last couple of rounds then who knows?"

Beadle was asked about McGrath who has a leg injury.

"He's hopefully going to have a scan before the end of the week and that will give us a much better picture of where he is.

"I think you are looking at six weeks minimum at least with how it is at the momeny but until we get the scan and results through it's hard to tell."
