No Excuses Said Beadle

Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle gave his reaction to the press after his side was defeated 1-0 by Farnborough this evening.

"We very disappointed, of course we are," said Beadle.

"There are no excuses, I think it was probably just one game too far maybe.

"We've had a lot of games, a lot of travelling. We put a big effort into Saturday.

"We've had the disruption with James and a few injuries today but that's not an excuse.

"We just didn't get going and then we get a sending off just before half time.

"Then we talked at half time about being tight and solid for ten minutes and play our way into the game.

"And then a minute into the second half we give away such a poor goal. Back to our old ways a bit giving away such a poor goal. Then we huffed and puffed.

"They never caused us any real problems apart from a few little bits, nothing I would call a major threat.

"So in general it was one of those days I think. We weren't at it and maybe it was just one game too far.

"Calvin came off ten minutes into the game Saturday so of course he is injuried. He's got a hamstring so he's going to be a couple of weeks. Keyon was already playing with a sore ankle but he took a whack just under his knee so he's got a bit of swelling on his knee and is struggling to bend it.

"But we've got plenty of ability in the squad to change the team. Pablo and age have come in so no problem there.

"Preston has come into a three at the back which at times looked okay but at other times a little bit shaky but it will look a bit shaky as we haven't worked on it a great deal.

"Overall just a disappointing performance."

Mike Symons was sent off when given a second yellow for an incident with the Farnborough keeper.

"Two yellow cards, it's a foul. There's no excuses it's a foul. I don't know why he made the challenge as the keeper had the ball in his hands. Players have their moments of madness, it happens but there are no excuses for it.

"I don't understand what his thought process was but it put us under pressure and on the back foot at the start of the second half.

"We didn't defend their goal at all well. It was a long ball over the top. Jack completely misses it and the lad goes in and scores.

"No excuses, the sending off was what it was but we have to cope with that and get on with it but in a game of very few chances, a bit like Slough, it was very reminiscent of Slough a while ago.

"Let's just hope we get the reaction like we did after Slough. We bounced back after Slough and put a good few results together and performances but today the performance wasn't quite right."
