John Mills |
Kempston Rovers host Hereford FC in the FA Cup next Saturday and their joint manager Jimmy Stoyles has spoken about keeping John Mills, Hereford's on form striker, well marked.
"It's exciting isn't it. To get a team like Hereford with all its history. It will be a great day," Stoyles told BBC 3CR.
"A day we want to go out and win.
"We've done our homework, had them watched and we'll set up with a positive attitude to go and beat them.
"It's a big game financially, the gate receipts, the rewards, get through to the next round and we might get a Conference club.
"It's a game of football, eleven versus eleven."
Stoyles was asked how many Hereford supporters will be at the game.
"We are expecting, hopefully, somewhere between 800 and 1000.
"The ground will open at 12 noon. We've brought in extra facilities so we're prepared on the pitch and off the pitch as well."
Stoyles said that Kempston had been playing well this season to date.
"We were unlucky on Saturday (Lost 2-1 at Hartley). We had enough chances to have killed the game off.
"It's been a decent start. We're looking to build on last season and get in the play-offs. That's the objective."
The presenter noted that Hereford are currently 'mid-tableish'.
"Their last two games they've been scoring goals. They'll come down expecting to win and with the majority of the crowd.
"We've got a great group, the core we've had for three years. They love a challenge. We're not going to go into this nervous, we'll go into it positive."
John Mills will be a danger man?
"He got three on Saturday against Royston. We had a couple of people there scouting.
"He's very dangerous, proven. We'll have to concentrate. They've only let in five or six in the League.
"We'll need to keep him quiet but at the same time we need to cause them problems. You can't have a striker like Hereford's and sit back. At some stage he's going to hurt you."
