Radio Hereford FC are set to broadcast from several pubs in Weymouth on Friday September 22nd ahead of the visit of Hereford FC to the south coast the following day.
Francis Williams explains.
We have been unable to obtain a suitable venue
from which we would be able to do a full-scale live broadcast. We are
aware that there are many supporters that will be travelling down on
Friday night and will be in some of the excellent pubs in town.
We do have a completely mobile broadcasting unit
that we can literally carry around so we are going to "Radio Bomb" some
of the pubs around town.
"Radio Bombing" is a new venture, invented by us,
of turning up and doing an "off-the-cuff " live broadcast with any
supporters we come across on our journeys.
To find out where we will be you need to tune in
on your phone to RadioHerefordFC at 7.45pm and we will confirm our
whereabouts and where we will be going next. If you are at home listening in, our programme starts at 7.45 and will continue, with breaks, throughout the evening.
There are three pubs we know quite well and are fairly close together. We will probably start off in Wetherspoons, The Swan in St.Thomas Street. A short hop over the Harbour Bridge and turn left
into Trinity Road, you will find The Kings Arms, more than likely our
second "bomb site". Further on along the harbour edge The Old Rooms
Inn on Cove Row we will certainly "bomb"! If fine there is a great
outdoor area here.
Remember tune in at 7.45 whether you are in Weymouth or snuggled up at home, its sure to be entertaining.
The Bombing team will consist of Wing Commander
Keith Hall, Flight Lieutenant Frank Williams, Chief Navigator Simon
Wright, Pilot Officer Mike Baldwin and Tail Gunner Joanie Roberts plus
other non-commissioned ranks.
