Last Game Against Hornchurch

After this afternoon's news that Hereford have been drawn at home to AFC Hornchurch in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, BN takes a look back to when the two sides last met.

The Bulls and the Urchins met in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round in the 2013/14 season - Hereford United's last season in the Conference.

Martin Foyle's men narrowly beat the London-based club 1-0, thanks to a injury-time goal from Josh O'Keefe.

Hornchurch have dropped down a league since 2013, and now ply their trade in the Bostik League North Division, which is a step lower than Hereford currently.

Rhys Evans played in goal for Hereford in the 2013 game, and is now a goalkeeping coach with the phoenix club. He didn't enjoy the game.

Whilst he didn't have much to do during the whole game, he later tweeted that he didn't enjoy the game.

'Not often I comment about a match, but I don't think I've enjoyed a game less than yesterday's 1st half especially, kicking into that wind,' he tweeted.

'And thanks to the fans who made the effort to come. In light of recent weeks and results. Not a pretty watch, I hope the draw later rewards.'

Onto the goal. This is how our reporter saw it:

With a replay looking all but certain, the game had entered the four added minutes when Dan Walker replaced Odihambo.

Walker was fed by Leadbitter and despite a poor first touch Walker got a second bite and fired a low drive across the box to O’Keefe at the back post and “goal machine” made no mistake in his return to the squad.

The tie is set to be played at Edgar Street on Saturday 30th September, which means the home game against Dunstable has been postponed.
