Tiverton Town boss Martyn Rogers has said that he thinks Hereford will be one of the favourites to win the Southern League Premier this coming season.
Tiverton were promoted after they beat Salisbury 2-0 in the play-off final earlier this month.
"There's some tough teams there," Rogers told Devon Online.
"You've only got to look at Hereford to tell you that because they'll be one of the favourites, I'd say.
"We've obviously got to try and bridge that gap – they won the league quite comfortably last year but, in the two games against them, I thought we showed a lot of character, especially at home, so I don't think we're a million miles away, we just need to be a little more consistent like they were."
Rogers, whose career at Tiverton spans some 27 years, went on to talk about the increased costs that come with promotion.
"There's a lot made of the travelling but the thing from the club's point of view is it's the actual cost of travelling – it's not cheap now, you're talking £1,200 to go to Kings Lynn, which is a lot of money to find when you're not getting anything from the away trip.
"The thing is, we know what it's like, we've been there before and most of the directors were at the club the last time we were in this league, so we know it – hopefully what we can get this year is a few more people through the gate.
"You certainly get more people coming through the turnstiles, that's for sure, with the away supports, too, as you've only got to look at what Hereford brought down last year."
