Hereford 'Fully Deserved Their Victory' Said Claridge

Salisbury manager Steve Claridge gave a long interview to BBC Wiltshire after Saturday's match against Hereford.

Here's a flavour of what he said.

"We weren't that bad but Hereford were very good, no doubt about that" said Claridge.

"They were so clinical.

"At times it was astonishing. They've scored three from four chances (first half).

"Second half even then they had an awful lot of the ball, an awful lot of the play.

"The quality of the ball into the box, the finishing and the movement was exceptional at times.

"I've got no excuses, they were the better side, they beat us.

"The best team in the league.

"You look at their side, pretty consistant all through their team. We haven't got that depth and strength.

"We are not where Hereford are. They are Conference/League Two side in waiting so we're not playing against a South and West side.

"They are a good side that came here, played really really well, worked really hard and fully deserved their victory."

Claridge had several players missing on Saturday.

"Any sort of weakness they are going to exploit and they did.

"Good luck to them. To say they were clinical is probably an understatement."
