Forest Green Rovers, who are funded by Dale Vince's Ecotricity, spent over £2M on wages last season according to their annual accounts.
It's thought the amount is one of the highest in the National League.
The club lost nearly £2.5M which was £400K less than the previous season.
Turnover was just over £1M of which £656K was from matchday taking.
The club's debts are said to be £5M most of which is owed to Vince's companies.
