Five Australians Have Played For Hereford

Yesterday BN asked the question how many Australians have played for either Hereford United or Hereford FC.

The answer according to club historian Ron Parrott is five.

1.   Jimmy Oates 2015/16 to date
Born Australia 19th September 1991
2.   Trent McClenahan 2006/07 & 2007/08
Born Chipping Norton, Australia 4th February 1985
3.   Jon Brady 2005/06
Born Newcastle (Australia) 14th January 1975
4.   Kane Kahaki 2004/05 & 2005/06
Born Brisbane, Australia 30th May 1988
Youth team player, went on to play for Pegasus Juniors & Lad's Club. He played just two games for United, coming on as substitute in both the 2004/05 and 2005/06 Herefordshire Senior Cup games.
5.   Wally Cornock
Born Waverley, Australia, 1st January 1921, died 20th November 2007
Christened Walter, Wally was a goalkeeper who had played for Oldham Athletic before the war, without making the first team. After making three appearances for United during the 1946/47 season, he was transferred to Rochdale in November 1947, but never really made the grade and played in only one Football League game for the Lancashire side.

BN note: One other name was suggested, Blake Thompson. He was on the bench for just one game in late 2014 but as he didn't play he isn't in the list.
