We'll Take Five Goals And A Clean Sheet Said Beadle

Peter Beadle
After their 5-0 victory over AFC Totton, Hereford manager Peter Beadle gave his thoughts to the local media.

"I thought we were really good," said Beadle.

"At half time I'm sure everyone was thinking it's going to be a few more but Totton did extremely well second half and we didn't match it which was a bit disappointing. And it was a bit slow. We never really got going second half.

"But we can't complain, 5-0 at home and another clean sheet. Five good goals and we still created chances. It would have been nice to have put a few more away."

Beadle had been asking to put teams to bed earlier in the game.

"We did that, 5-0 at half time and the game was really over but it more about a case of how we came out second half and what our mentality was like and I thought our mentality was a little bit immature.

"First half you look at some of the goals we scored, we stretched them and got in behind them and run beyond people, second half we didn't have that so much. People taking too many touches, coming too short for the ball and never really working them.

"One of our strengthes has been when the games are tight  we do the right things. You can't complain at the boys too much they had done all the work in the first half but it would have been nice for them to round it off properely in the second half.

"But we'll take the three points and a clean sheet and we move onto the next one."

With John Mills out with a hamstring injury Pablo Haysham moved upfront with Mike Symons.

"I thought he did well but he was one of the ones second half who took too many touches but he has played a lot of games out wide. Last year I thought him and Mike were our best two, our better two during the games and the way we played but he hasn't played there for a little while, not since the early part of the season so it will take him a little while to get used to playing in there again but I thought he looked bright and he got his goal and I think he had a hand in the own goal.

"Pablo is a quality player and he knows that and he knows it's his downfall if he takes too many touches at times. Second half I thought he took too many touches.

"(John Mills) He's okay a little bit sore I think he's going to be another month or two (Millsy was listening to the interview) before he's back!

"No he's coming on well and he's hoping for next week but may be that's a bit too soon but another week and we'll know how he is.

"He's coming on nicely and working hard behind the scenes.

"We want him back as quickly as possible but fully fit not 70% fit as with hamstrings we know they are delicate things and if it was to go again or wasn't quite right he could make it worse. So we want him back 100% not 70%."
