I Thought We Were Superb Today Said Beadle

Another three points for Hereford FC this afternoon and afterwards a delighted manager Peter Beadle spoke to the local media.

"I thought we were superb again today," said Beadle.

"I said it last week and again yesterday that whenever we've had a challenge put in front of us we seem to raise our game for it and I thought we, especially second half, raised the tempo again.

"It says a lot about the way we played when Shortwood got their first shot on target in the 92nd minute.

"So I'm delighted with the team. The performance was solid, comfortable, professional.

"We've had so many chances to finish the game off, in the first minute Millsy had a chance then Symo had a chance and you just think is it going to be one of those days again.

"But they were great today, the boys were superb.  The effort was there, the committment was there, the attitude was right, the application was spot on. And that's what we ask for. The rest of it is down to the players themselves. Their temperment in the game and they way they managed the game was spot on."

Trevor Owens who interviwed Beadle felt the Shortwood keeper had a good game.

"I thought they were good, I thought they were very good.

"I know Alex has problems with injuries, they were probably two or three players short, in fact their keeper is suspended.

"That keeper who played today, it was his first game this year so he's come in and done them a favour and he couldn't have picked a better game.

"They've got nothing to walk away with their head down, I'm sure they'll go away thinking we gave them a game and we weren't far off we just need to be better maybe in the final third.

"They're not bad and I think when they get back to full strength, they've been on a decent run lately, but had injuries and suspensions today, but when they do get back to full strength I think they'll be a force to be reckoned with."

Beadle replaced Tristan Plummer with Jamie Molyneux at half time.

"We just wanted more. Players haven't got a God given right to play in this team. We want end products from everybody, we're looking for clean sheets and the defensive unit to be nice and solid and not give chances away and we're looking for forward thinking players to be more productive.

"They are not going to be perfect every game, we know that. Over the course of this year and last year John Mills, Mike Symonds, Pablo Haysham Joe Tumelty when he was here, Mousse, Sid when they were here, they're not goig to be perfect every week.

"And Tristan didn't quite get going today, No big issue no problem with him he did well but it just wasn't his day today so we just felt to change early and give Jamie a chance to get his legs going, open his legs up and took his opportunity.

"It's always for the team when a sub comes on and does that."
