Clubs Mark Remembrance Sunday

Last Saturday At Edgar Street
The EVO-STIK League Southern's fans, players and officials will mark Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday this afternoon by observing two minutes of silence before kicking off in their league and cup fixtures.

The British and Commonwealth servicemen and women who've made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts around the world since The Great War of 1914-18 will be remembered before fixtures in all three divisions of the EVO-STIK League Southern and the second qualifying round of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Remembrance Sunday is held on the second Sunday in November, the nearest to Armistice Day on November 11 when the guns of the global conflict finally fell silent at 11am on 11 November 1918 after four years of war.

Meanwhile Hereford players will wear shirts with poppies printed on them for this afternoon's game against Shortwood.

Last Saturday the club held a one minute silence before the start of the game. It's expected they will do the same this afternoon but it hasn't been confirmed.
