Hereford started with pressure on Holme Lacy, playing in Navy Blue, and continued with consistent attacking play throughout the match. Strong performance from Sinclair in the opening minutes saw the first goal to the Bulls in less than 10 minutes from a confident pass into the area from Lewis Clarke. Maintaining possession for most of the game Hereford had several chances to increase their advantage but a weak attempt by Molyneux, a close call from Clarke forcing the keeper to have 2 attempts at pushing the ball over the bar, a shot going wide for Plummer and Williams and another rattling the upright, Sinclair having the keeper at full stretch to clear another and Huntbatch being denied by a shot tipped over the bar, meant the Bulls going into half time still only 1-0 up.
Harris in goal was put under very little pressure as the Bulls pulled ahead. Credit to the Holme Lacy fans who maintained their singing throughout the match and there were some heavy, late challenges that were not acknowledged by the Ref.
Bulls News MOTM
There were younger players on the field tonight, all pulling their weight, Williams and Sinclair both working the ball, Plummer with some excellent breaks and crosses into the area, double goals from Molyneux, Clarke, again solid at number 2 and some great defending by Preece but for me the MOTM goes to Joel Edwards for some great defending and clearances, a shot at goal, an excellent turn of speed down the pitch and most impressively taking the ball from 1 player in the centre circle and successfully beating a 2nd player with poise and skill to feed to Plummer whose shot goes just wide.
