Sign Him Up Dad

27 year old Matty Beadle, who scored 34 goals in 36 starts last season for Northwich, has just moved to Colne.

Colne are starting their first season in the Evo-Stick Northern Premier League.

“Matty scored 34 in 36 games last season,” Colne FC manager Steve Cunningham told Pendle Today.

“I obviously have my own targets but I asked the lads who they wanted and they all gave me his name so we went out and got him. That shows instantly that the players respect him. His dad (Peter Beadle) is the manager of Hereford FC so he’s had good guidance too.

“He’s just got a presence about him. He’s direct and he’s just looking to score goals when he gets the ball. The fans will love him for that. He’s a team player as well though and he’s very ambitious. He wants to be part of a family club that is looking to push on.

"He’s a lovely kid and he’ll give us a real presence."

Matt said he wanted to progress but was sorry to leave Northwich.

“It’s been a difficult decision because I’ve enjoyed my time here,” he said.

“But like most players, I’d like to test myself further up the pyramid and Colne have offered me an opportunity to do that.

“They’re a good club, and this move feels right for me at this stage of my career.”
