Hereford FC's friendly at Kidderminster next Tuesday evening has been rebranded. It will now be called the Steve Millington Memorial Trophy.
Millington was a former chairman of KHIST who helped Hereford supporters when the Edgar Street club ran into problems recently.
It is hoped that the 'Trophy' game will become an annual event between the two clubs.
"I’m sure the two teams will share a footballing rivalry forever more – that’s not something we want to change," said Harriers’ Managing Director Dave Pountney as reported by the Hereford OS.
“I will always remember being with Steve and attending initial meetings with Hereford fans and discussing the formation of their Trust and how we could help.
“The sight of hundreds of Hereford fans at Aggborough for our game against Welling live on BT Sport is something many of us will never forget and that, in many respects, is part of Steve’s legacy.”
Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale has also commented.
“This is a fantastic idea and one I’m sure both sets of supporters will embrace.
“Some things are more important than what happens in 90 minutes on the pitch and this is a celebration of not only the life of someone like Steve but also the camaraderie of football fans as a whole.
“We will never forget how Kidderminster held out their hand to help us.”
Next Tuesday's game at Aggrough kicks off at 7.45pm.
Admission is £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for under 16's.
