Beadle 'Opens' New Stand At Lydney

Lydney's New Stand
Last Saturday before the start of Hereford's second pre-season friendly manager Peter Beadle opend a new £17,470 stand at Lydney. Half of the cost was covered by a grant from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund.

Peter Beadle, Manager of Hereford FC, said: “It was a pleasure to officially unveil Lydney Town AFC’s new stand. The additional standing and seating areas will provide room for more supporters to enjoy watching their team play.

“Without the support of the Premier League through the FSIF, clubs like Lydney would not be able to make improvements to their grounds. It is vital that stadia is suitable and safe for players and supporters alike, and I am pleased to see the works complete. I wish everyone at the club all the best for the future.”

Roger Sansom, Secretary of Lydney Town AFC, said: “The construction of a second stand completes the final phase of an enormous project allowing us to achieve the required stadia grading and compete at Step 5 of the football pyramid or maybe beyond.

“The club is indebted to the FSIF for their grant funding not only on this occasion but throughout the club’s improvement programme, without which we would have struggled to find the necessary finance to achieve our ambitions. Certainly, Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle was suitably impressed with what we had to offer and we thank him for taking the time out to open the new stand.”
