Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle has said that he is very sorry for Adam Page who sustained an injury in training at Cheltenham recently which could mean he will miss much of the forthcoming season.
"More than sad, I'm gutted for him more than anything," Beadle told BN.
"We were talking about bringing him back and looking forward to having him back and then this happens.
"Sometimes that's just the way it goes but hopefully it will make him stronger, it will make him even more determined and we'll see how soon he recovers but it looks as though he will miss the whole season which is a shame after what he did last year and given the potential he has got.
"I'm very disappointed for him, he's a great lad, hopefully he'll recover that little bit quicker than twelve months and hopefully he will be back playing again soon."
Finally Beadle spoke about not taking part in the Southern League Cup this season.
"I just thought on reflection and speaking to Jenks as well about the worthwhile of that competition and without trying to disrespect the competition we just felt it was one that possibly we could do without.
"We're in the League and that's always our main focus. We're also in the FA Cup, the FA Trophy, the County Cup.
"One more competition is as much as it is great to be in there and playing for it but it would mean probably as we go through the rounds it would mean much further distances on a Tuesday night.
"The premier league teams are going to come into that competition as well and he could find ourselves playing Hitchin or Kings Lynn on a Tuesday night away from home.
"And logistically it just doesn't work with what we are trying to achieve so we just felt that maybe for this season we may skip it and move on and focus whole-heartedly on the league, the FA Cup and the Trophy."
