One Home Friendly Because Of Pitch Reseed

In an interview with BBC Hereford and Worcester, Martin Watson, Hereford FC's Football Secretary, has confirmed that there will be one home friendly before the start of next season.

"The pitch we inherited hadn't been looked after for a year." said Watson.

"Ben Bowen and the team did what they could, they've been absolutely brilliant in getting the pitch as good as it was. But it needed a lot of work this summer so as soon as we had the chance the top came off it.

"We've put about 90 tonnes of new soil on there but it'll need a lot of time to bed in.

"The problem with that is that with a new top on it it needs a lot of rest so we are currently looking at one pre-season friendly at home."

Watson also spoke about the away friendly at Kidderminster confirmed this morning.

"We're off to Kiddy, they asked us quite early on.

"We're very happy to go there and help them out and test ourselves against a team at a higher level.

"They've had a bad season but they've got some good young players and a new management team.

"It should be an interesting game."
