Satisfaction Not Jubilation?

Tim Burrows, who has been following Hereford for over 40 years, sounded a note of caution about the future despite the club winning the Midland Premier League last night.

"It's an odd feeling but winning the Midland League doesn't compare with many of the things I've seen the club achieve," Burrows told BBC Hereford and Worcester this morning.

"Not so long ago we got up to League One, so winning a League in which we have gates ten times the size of any opponents I think satisfaction is probably the word.

"There's obviously jubilation on the part of many people because of what's been achieved and full credit to everybody who have got off their backsides and put football back in Hereford.

"But it's only the first step, there's a lot still to do."

Are you optimistic they can get that far again?

"I'd like to think that it will happen but there's questions to be asked about how the club has fallen so far and why it's been allowed to fall so far.

"Those probably aren't questions that should be asked today but when you look at what at what has been achieved in the last few months and the way that the people have flocked back to the club I suppose it proves the old adage that people return to a winning football team.

"The challenge that is going to come is when that team starts competing against clubs of a similar level a few years down the line."
