Graham Turner Admires Ronaldo |
Both organisations would like to thank the FA for agreeing to this unprecedented request, and would also like to thank Westons Cider – Hawkesbury 1 Ronaldo’s owners – for all their assistance in making this fantastic idea a reality.
Speaking earlier today, Hereford FC Chairman, Jon Hale, said:
‘It is incredibly exciting to hear the news that the club’s mascot - Hawkesbury 1 Ronaldo – will be joining us pre-match at Wembley.
‘When he was paraded before our first competitive game back in August he was a huge hit with everyone at the stadium, and I’m sure it will be no different for those people who see him at Wembley.
‘I’d like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen – it will only serve to make this special day even more memorable.’
Herefordshire Football Association Chief Executive, Jim Lambert, added:
‘We realise how important Ronaldo is to the fans and I am delighted that the FA Chief Executive, Martin Glenn, has been prepared to take time from his busy schedule to personally intervene to make this happen.’
For those who can’t wait for Wembley to see Hawkesbury 1 Ronaldo, he will also be making a special appearance at the County Challenge Cup Final between Westfields FC and Hereford FC at Edgar Street on Monday 2 May (3pm kick off).
This will be the Bulls’ last game in the county before the trip to Wembley.
Tickets for the Westfields game will be on sale online via the Hereford FC website (www.herefordfc.co.uk) from 5pm on Tuesday 26 April, and will then be available at Edgar Street from the Addison’s Bar reception from 10am till 4pm on Friday 29 April.
They will then be on sale from 10am on the day of the game.
