Beadle On the HFA Cup-tie

Peter Beadle
Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle gave his reaction to the press after his side defeated Kington Town 4-0 in this evening's HFA Challenge Cup-Tie at Edgar Street.

He started by talking about the Kington performance.

"I thought they were very good," said Beadle.

"I thought they worked really hard and they caused us one or two problems second half and they stuck at it.

"We scored goals at good times so we're pleased with the performance and pleased to be back on the winning road again."

John Mills played the whole 90 minutes.

"John has been on the bench for a couple of games and then got back into the team on Tuesday night but he needs a couple of games to get sharp, to get busy.

"It was perfect for him."

It's Loughborough University on Saturday.

"They are all tough games, we don't get easy games because we are everybody's cup-final as we showed tonight.

"Kington are two leagues below where we are, they've had an up and down season but they gave us a real good game tonight but tonight was their cup-final.

"So we don't expect anything different on Saturday, we've just got to make sure we're better.

"Everyone seems to be fine, those that needed a game Robbo, Max and Carlos did well tonight. Ross has had another good ninety minutes under his belt so I'm pleased with that.

"We're happy with the game, happy with the result, happy with the performance."

More about Carlos.

"He did well, like I said he's in a bit of a difficult position because he's between youth team and first team. He played for Pegasus on Saturday, we wanted to get him a regular game and he scored so that will do his confidence the world of good.

"He did well tonight, he looked lively but he's got a long way to go, he's a young boy, he's 17 but the fact that he can hold his own with us is a great start. He's got promise."

Any thoughts about playing the final on Bank Holiday Monday and not going to Alvechurch?

"No, not really. The games has got to be played when they've got to be played. Sometimes it's not ideal but as the games come along we'll tick them off and play them when they are ready."

Finally will Pablo Haysham and Mike Symons be fit for Saturday?

"Hopefully they'll be okay, that's why they've not played tonight. Hopefully they'll be okay for Saturday."
