One Of Those Days Said Beadle

A disappointed Peter Beadle admitted that his side hadn't played well this afternoon in the 1-1 home draw against Old Wulfrunians.

"We didn't play well today," the Hereford FC manager told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We had enough chances to win the game and another one. But it wasn't quite to be today.

"The character was good, the energy was good, they worked their socks off, they were tireless in their efforts and we were constantly knocking on the door.

"But when John (Mills) misses a penalty in the first half and then Muss (Bundu) misses a chance early in the second half and they score the goal the way they did, you tend to start thinking is it going to be one of those days and it turned out one of those days for us.

"Obviously we would have liked to have played a bit better as in style of football, we would have liked to have made it more of a football game but they wouldn't allow that in the way they played.

"Credit to them because they wanted to disrupt it.

"And in the less minute the defender slices his clearance and the keeper manages to kick over the bar from point blank range.

"We're not the only team that will have one of those days.

"We didn't lose the game but it feels like a loss because we put so much into the game and we had enough chances to win it.

"But we've got to roll our sleeves up and be prepared to Tuesday."

Beadle made three chances, one of which saw Harvey Rivers in goal.

"Martin (Horsell) was ill. He trained on Thursday and looked a bit pale but he was fine. And then Friday he was particularily ill, there's obviously some virus going around.

"But Harvey has played enough games this year and certainly first half, he had a cross to deal with one save, a great save, I though he was excellent.

"Second half barring the clearance for the goal, I thought he had very little to do.

"That again shows we didn't particularily play well but we certainly dominated the game, it just wasn't to be our day.

"James (Pilling) came into the team today, Joe (Tumelty)came into the team today. Pablo (Haysham) has had a niggling groin for a little while now, we thought it would be good to give him a rest.

"And Dylan (Bonella) the same. He's worked hard but I thought he looked a little bit leggy at Hartley in the Cup game so I had a chance to give him a rest.

"We've brought three good players in team and their performances, I thought they all did well."

Sporting Khalsa are next at Edgar Street on Tuesday evening.

"They are another good side, there are plenty of good sides in this division.

"Before today we've been on a run of 30 games unbeaten but everyone wins their games in hand we still would not be top. Which shows how strong this League is.

"Everyone has talked about the run and how great it's been and we've won 27/26 games in a row or whatever it was.

"Even after all of that if everyone wins their games in hand we would be second in the table. So we've got a long way to go yet and today's result bears no hindrance to where we are going to be at the end of the season.

"We just didn't have lady luck today. Hopefully that will return a little bit and we'll come out and put in the same sort of effort and committment and we'll have a better result on Tuesday."
