Hale Backs HUST Directors

In Saturday's match programme Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale praised the work of the three HUST directors who sit on the main board.

"Since the inception of Hereford FC, the board of directors has been greatly strengthened by the 3 HUST nominated Directors," said Hale.

"HUST Chair Chris Williams, Martin Watson and Mike Langford who have not only represented HUST but have also had critical and responsible roles to play in the limited company that is Hereford FC.

"Chris heads up the Safety Advisory Group, which is responsible for the ground's security, health and safety and stewarding.

"Chris oversaw the complicated administration process that allowed Hereford FC to gain the safety certificate in the summer and achieve the maximum possible ground capacity at Edgar Street before we kicked a ball.

"His on-going HFC committments involve regular meetings with the SAG group and regular liaison with Herefordshire Council officers.

"Martin was immediately installed as Football Secretary when we started. Martin's knowledge of football law, lower league football and administration within the game has been absolutely critical in helping the club build on the playing side.

"Martin handles all registration and administration involving a number of bodies, like the FA, HFA and Midland League. His attention to detail has meant we are yet to be fined for any spelling mistakes on the team sheet!

"Mike's role and his own professional experience have added yet more expertise around the Boardroom table.

"All 3 HUST nominated Directors have played key roles and accepted the huge personal responsibilty involved in becoming a Director of a limited company football club.

"When we are all around the Boardroom table we act as one, making decisions for the good of the club and doing what is right and best for Hereford FC.

"Having a strong supporters trust is imperative going forward, and that partnership between club, supporters trust and fans has to be pro-active, open and transparent in line with the ethics of the club.

"Having 3 HUST nominated members on the Board demonstrates how highly we value that partnership."
