This report is from Laura Davies, UITC Football Development Officer.

February Soccer Schools.

During February half term UiTC staff visited venues across Herefordshire to deliver Edgar’s Soccer School programme to children aged 4-11.

Over four days, more than 100 children attended the Soccer Schools. This included re-visiting old venues, Ledbury and Ross-On-Wye.

The week started off in Hereford with the Soccer School taking place at The Hereford Academy, where nearly 40 children were in attendance, plus those from the Development Centre (U8-U11s).

On Wednesday, staff visited John Masefield High School (Halo Leisure Centre) in Ledbury where 27 players turned out for the occasion, in what was a great day with lots of new faces.

The final two days were spent in Ross-On-Wye at John Kyrle High School and Bromyard, with numbers again on the increase in what was a very successful week for Edgar’s Soccer Schools.

Football Development Officer, Laura Davies commented,

“Although it was a demanding week, I’m happy that we delivered to more venues across the county and to see more than 100 participants is fantastic.

“It’s great that our Soccer School programme took place in Ledbury and Ross-On-Wye, as I know these venues were both very popular previously.

“We will evaluate each of the days and look to build on this to provide more footballing opportunities and positive experiences to those within Herefordshire.”

Edgar’s Soccer Schools will return for two week during Easter half term, watch this space for more information!
