I'm Over The Moon Said Long

Ian Long
Alvechurch manager Ian Long said that he was 'over the moon' after this afternoon's 1-1 at Edgar Street.

"I'm over the moon with the result," said Long.

"First half I thought we were second best for long periods in all fairness. Second half we were a bit more confident.

"I thought our goal was fantastic. It started on the edge of their box and a great finish from Nick Wright.

"He is the one player we've got who has played at a higher level and he's got that little bit of extra composure.

"We came with a game plan. We knew that Hereford would have a lot of the ball and they did. They tend to do that especially at home.

"It was never a title decider either way, it's too early in the season, it's disrespectful to the likes of Khalsa, who have got a good side. We've both got to play them twice and Heanor are a good side who are improving all the time.

"On the grand scheme of things it's great to get a point here.

"We were organised and resolute and difficult to break down at times and rode our look in all fairness.

"Bundu has hit the post, great player."

Long said he though his players might have tired.

"That was my concern before the game because of the lack of games we've had, we've probably played twice this month.

"I just thought we might run out of legs second half especially after how much running we had to do in the first half as Hereford had a lot of possession.

"I think the big crowd kept us going a little bit which was pleasing"
