Great Result For Us Says Beadle

Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle felt last night's 6-0 win at Walsall Wood was a 'great result for us'.

However his side were matched for the better part of the first half.

"It was a great result for us, a fantastic result to be fair," Beadle told BN.

"Again first half, we didn't seem right in the warm up. May be I'm not giving teams we are playing against enough credit but they were a really good team tonight certainly for the first half hour.

"They gave us a really good game, they mixed the system up and they went for it and they had really some good players and they had a go.

"I think we were fortunate to go in 2-0 up but I thought second half we were excellent.

"We pinned them in and we looked a threat every time we went forward and even before we got the third we could have got two before that with two efforts from John.

"It sends out a great message with two clean sheets on the bounce, we're scoring goals the other end. We've tightened it up at one end and getting goals at the other end and we've come and played a really good side tonight but we've taken them apart second half to be fair. There's no other way of putting it."

Keeper Harvey Rivers made a great tip over during the first half, probably the only time he was troubled throughout the game.

"They caused us problems first half with the way they played and we didn't get to grips with it.

"We ask the players to think whilst the game is going on, it's hard to do it from the sidelines.

"You can see what's going wrong or not happening right and you can see what you want to do but it's trying to get that message to everybody.

"So half-time we adjusted it a little bit and they were not a threat second half with the way we played.

"The fact that we got the third goal and then the fourth and then it was a case of if we could get a few more to help our goal difference would be great but also be mindfull to keep a clean sheet the other end."

Both Sol Wheatley and Adam Page left the pitch with injuries during the second half.

"Sol just felt his back when he set up the first or second goal, he felt his back twinge.

"People like Sol, Nathan, Sirdic and Jimmy they are training every day at Harpbury so they are working extremely hard at the moment so we are going to have to be careful how we manage them.

"Sol was great again tonight in spells but was still frustrating in spells.

"Just a twinge and I'm sure by the weekend he will be fine.

"Page had a tight calf on Saturday and then had a couple of kicks in it tonight but he's got a bit of a rest now because he can't play on Saturday.

"Loan players can't play in the Vase. Adam is on loan, everyone else is signed with us.

"We've got more than capable deputies who can come in and stake their claim for a place.

"The Vase is a competition we want to do well in. There is a fantastic bonus at the end of it, a game at Wembley.

"There's no bigger carrot than playing at the National Stadium so we want to do as well as we can in that competition."
