HUST – Vacancies – Membership Secretary, Communications Director.

This from HUST:

The forthcoming elections will see HUST have a number of vacancies on the Board for the coming year. Two vital roles that need to be filled are:

Membership Secretary
The Membership Secretary is responsible for processing membership applications and renewals, mailing out cards and merchandise orders, responding to member queries, and maintaining the member databases.
The position will typically take 6-8 hours per week, although a peak time for renewals around the AGM in September will see the workload increase temporarily.
Anyone wishing to take up the position will need to be computer literate, with a basic knowledge of spreadsheets. Training will be given in the role.
The position does not need the holder to be based in Hereford, although attendance at the monthly Board meetings will be required.

Expenses (postage, stationery) will be paid.

Communications Director
The Communications Director is responsible for the output of news to members and the press via our website and mailing list, as well as to the HUST page in the Hereford FC matchday programme.
News and information will be gathered from other Board members for circulation. The position will typically take 4-6 hours per week.
Anyone wishing to take up the position will need to be computer literate with experience of WordPress, although training can be given in both that and Mailchimp.
The position does not need the holder to be based in Hereford, although attendance at the monthly Board meetings will be required.

The Membership Secretary role has been vacated by Chris Oleksy, who is to remain as the Fans Team Co-ordinator in a non-board role. The Communications Director role is a new one created out of work currently undertaken by Vice Chairman Martin Watson, whose expanding role as Club Secretary of Hereford FC has seen his time to perform the task severely limited.
Current Treasurer Mike Langford and Prize Bull Lottery co-ordinator Andy Swift are both standing for election in September having previously been co-opted onto the Board after the last election. Chairman Chris Williams, Vice Chairman Martin Watson, and Board member Tony Clifford-Jones will remain in place for the second year of their elected terms.
Mick Loader, who assisted Chris Oleksy in the Membership Secretary role, has stepped down after being appointed as Commercial Manager at UITC, while Paul Stevens’ election as a Hereford City Councillor has also necessitated his departure. Paul is still continuing to assist HUST in a number of ways including arranging bands and liaising with James Smith for the HUST party at the club on July 11th. Due to his commitments to Hereford FC on nights when HUST meetings are usually held, Rob Purdie has also chosen to stand down at the coming election.
