Back in the 1970's, George & Tudor Ltd operated out of Jewson's Canal Wharf base and were subsequently taken over and the site, eventually, rebranded as Jewson. In 1978 they sponsored the Merton Stand at Edgar Street:
The George & Tudor company was later renamed Plasmarc and was finally dissolved in 2009 as part of a reorganisation.
